Electric vehicles (EVs) offer several environmental benefits over conventional gasoline-powered cars. First and foremost, they produce zero tailpipe emissions, reducing air pollution and helping to mitigate climate change. They are also more energy-efficient, converting about 60% of the electrical energy from the grid to power at the wheels, compared to only 20% for gas vehicles. Finally, because EVs can be powered by renewable energy sources, such as solar or wind, they have the potential to be completely carbon-neutral. It's important to note, that the overall environmental impact of EVs depends on how the electricity they use is generated so we support initiatives to replace fossil fuel powered vehicles with electric ones, and also replace or improve the electricity generation with sustainable & renewable solutions.

In January 2024 members of our church shared information about their EV experiences.
